In a world where wallpaper plays as much of a vital role to the scope of interiors as sculpture, furniture, paintings and cherished objets d’art, Cristina Buckley designs with vivid splashes of color in mind, complete with bold graphic prints and a spirited dose of fun and irreverence.
Raised in New York City by parents with an appreciation for art, interiors and antique collecting, her effervescent take on patterns and prints often draw on her background of studying filmmaking early on in her career, where set design guided her attention to detail and the power of creating a mood with interior decoration and color.
Once embarking upon a career leap from cinema to textile design, product design projects followed shortly thereafter with clients including Kelly Wearstler and Schumacher, among others.
In 2018 she debuted an eponymous line of eight wallpaper designs with discreet nods to some of her beloved design heroes: Sonia Delaunay, Piero Fornasetti, Alexander Girard and the artists of The Weiner Werkstatte.
Cristina lives and works between Los Angeles and New York.
